Paint chips

I was playing with the Sherwin-Williams Color Visualizer and came up with some of my own name suggestions:

  • Witch Hazel

  • Philodendron Leaf

  • Livid Bruise

  • Galena

  • Martian Sunset

  • Persimmon Peel

  • Insolence

  • Beeswax Candle

  • Dinner Roll

  • Bananafish

  • Chicken Broth

  • Gunbarrel

Update: I forgot that I had posted about this last Fall's lineup of colors over on my other blog, and found that Pantone's now posted the fashion color palette for Spring 2007: Silver Peony, Tarragon, Opal Gray, Golden Apricot, Hollyhock, Green Sheen, Grapemist, Café Crême, Strawberry Ice, and Sky Blue. Ho-hum.

Haha...I like "Insolence".

I always want to rename lipstick and nail polish colors. Like a bubble gum pink labeled "I bought Paris Hilton's book and enjoy wearing body glitter. To church."

Insolence is like Sass but more reserved. I figure if they have a color called "Solitude" then why not? (Though even I do not have the imagination required to come up with "Sensible Hue" the way they did.)

An article on the names of nail polishes. I think that Candy Man brand came and went, however.

Oh, I remember when Urban Decay first came out! Around the time Chanel premiered Vamp, if I recall. Cosmetics got a little dark there, for awhile.
